Black Hole Recordings, one of the world’s leading independent record labels, is known for releasing high-quality electronic dance music. Established in 1997 by Tijs Verwest and Arny Bink, the privately owned label initially began as a platform for Tiësto’s own productions and mixes. Since Tiësto’s star skyrocketed after the first two mix compilations 'Magik - First Flight' and 'Space Age 1.0', Black Hole immediately released hot new names like Misja Helsloot, Stigma, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Johan Gielen and many, many others.
Taking the success of Tiësto’s own 'Magik' and 'Space Age' series to a new level with the now world-famous 'In Trance We Trust' releases, it is safe to say that Black Hole delivered the world some outstanding trance compilations. And with the full-.. on quality and originality, the label built an ever growing fanbase in many territories and by 1998, Black Hole began with the production of 12” records to service a large number of DJ's. Other producers became interested to release their output for the record company; the once tiny independent that nowadays runs some ten different labels. The standard setting labels 'Black Hole' and 'In Trance We Trust' are now backed up with names as F.B.I., Songbird and Magik Muzik, to name a few. The company has scored major hits in the last couple of years and tracks by Tiësto, Kamaya Painters, Dance Nation, Andain, Allure, DJ Ton TB, JES, Mr Sam, DJ Preach, Mark Norman, First State and many more have received massive support from DJ's all over the globe.
Tiësto’s own mixcompilations and artist albums have sold millions of copies and the In Trance We Trust series has become the leading standard in trance music. Black Hole full supports their in-house artists and has produced numerous artist videos. It has also released 3 leading Tiësto live dvd-sets, which are unequalled in electronic dance music by their production and registration qualities. Nowadays Black Hole delivers directly it's music to over 40 download portals. It has also recently formed a new company with Streamline Studios; Streamline Sound, which offers full service audio solutions to game developers.
