Fortunately with a name like mine, once introduced I am usually remembered. At school this was somewhat of a hindrance where teachers were concerned. Maybe it was because of my name however I have always managed to make an impression on first meeting people, hopefully for the right reasons?
Being brought up in an affluent part (near a park) of a northern working class mining town of Leigh, Lancashire, I have embraced the undaunted ethos that such towns encourage throughout your upbringing. My biggest fan, my mum, has always said that from being able to speak as a child, I had been given a unique gift of being able to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds without ever being over inquisitive or intrusive. The complexities of the opposite sex though I have yet to master after 35 years of trying! Thankfully my Dad was a big music fan and from the age of four I had my own record collection in the form of the Bay City Rollers, Mud and Slade however throughout my childhood I would be enchanted by the sound of my Dad’s Northern Soul and Motown collections. I’m sure that such an early exposure to such a diverse array of music in such formative years provides the soundtrack to your life and ironically such music formed the basis of what enhanced my life, House music!
At my age most people have grown out of going out clubbing complaining of noise levels and nowhere to sit down. I have managed to retain that thirst for all things fresh and exciting whilst trying to convince people I’m still only 21 (at heart)!
