Description: This month has seen The Pension Regulator publish their Annual Funding Statement, much shorter than in recent years, reflecting the significant improvement on schemes funding levels in recent years, and perhaps more of a stop gap before the Funding Code comes out. The FCA have also been in the news, more controversially, by proposing to publicise enforcement investigations of firms as opposed to the current method of only publicising action if a firm is found guilty. Calls for the Chancellor to intervene have grown with the belief that an announcement of an investigation may lead to the assumption of guilt on the part of the firm being investigated. Our cover story this month is from Ton Lawrie-Fussey, Senior Director at LexisNexis Risk on keeping motor insurance costs down with data, examining the how data enrichment has a pivotal role to play in tackling insurance costs. Our regular authors give their insights including Zoe Bolton interviewing Philip Jacob, Director in the GI Actuarial team at PwC, in her latest Light, Camera Actuary column and Alex White with his usual enigmatic titled columns this month it’s entitled Murder on the LPI Floor. I trust you enjoy this month’s edition of the magazine, and we look forward to welcoming you back next month.
